Solly Theron
Solly Theron (Non-executive Director) completed his M. Sc. Geology at the University of Johannesburg. He has worked in a variety of positions, which range from divisional geologist at Anglo American (11 years), head of Process Mineralogy and Chief Flotation Engineer at Mintek (2 years), manager of Mineralogy at SGS (4 years) and Principal Mineralogist/Manager of Mineralogy at Exxaro Resources (4 years). He is an expert in coal, heavy mineral sands and base metal deposits (Pb/Zn), automated mineralogy (QEMSCAN/MLA) and the scoping and execution of testwork programs and feasibility studies. Gabrielle van Heerden
Gabrielle van Heerden (Director) obtained her M.Sc. Geology at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). She has been working in the mineral process industry for 5 years at SJT MetMin Services. She is proficient with automated mineralogy (MLA) and X-Ray Diffraction. She has experience in a wide range of commodities such as precious metals (Au and PGM) and base metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cu±Co, Sb) and a variety of other commodities. Archie Corfield
Archie Corfield (Director) joined Anglovaal Mining Ltd. In 1981 as a technician. During the next 22 years he gained extensive experience in, and knowledge of, mineralogy and mineralogical sample preparation methods; specialising in thin and polished rock section preparation, X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy, applying imaging and x-ray microanalytical techniques. After a brief stint with Morou Mineralogical services, he joined Mintek where he continued with sample preparation, electron microscopy and enhanced his expertise with the addition of electron microprobe analysis to his repertoire. He has broad experience in the preparation and analysis of a wide variety of materials of geological origin, metallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes.
